Abstract

The main objective of this analysis is to analyze translation shift of The Faults in Our Stars Novel by John Green from English into Indonesian. In doing this study, writer marked utterances from the novel to find the differences and compare the source language and the target language with translation shift analysis. Then, she makes conclusion that translation shift is a procedure involving a change in the grammar and lexical form from source language and target language. In this study, the writer uses qualitative descriptive method. The writer reads the novel and analyzes and identifies translation shift forms which appear in The Fault in Our Stars novel in particular in category shift which is one of translation shift types.
