Abstract

Heat process treatment is gradually warming processes on metal with the aim of changing the nature of the metal,mechanical heat treatment is done on medium carbonsteel with with temperatur evariations in temperatures and recrystallizati on austenizing, Rockwell hardness testing methods and testing the impact.The purpose of this test is to know the variations of temperature ,before and after heat treatment processes (new). And the test objects on experiencing heat treatment temperature of 800°C,850°C and 900°C with a 10- minute of detention time through water quenching medium.The results of this research obtained the highest value of the steel gears by under going a heat treatment (hardening) ata temperature of 800°Ci.e.48.67HRC,while for the lowest value of hardness to the steel gears at normal temperature (without heat treatment)i.e.HRCand25.5for the results of the energy impact of the highest value of the steel gears at temperature 800 Ci.e.112.75joules impact energy while the lowest value on the temperature of 900°Ci.e.104.78joules. More over,the results impacted the highest value of the steel gearsat temperature800 Ci.e. 1.252j/mm2andthelowestvalueofimpactattemperatureof900 Ci.e.1.164j/mm2.In conclusion,steelgears motorcycles procket cannot standart above800°Cbased on the graph of the impactand energy at nomal temperature°C, 850° C and 900°C,it leaves spring steel hardness value declined from its quality.
