Abstract

ABSTRACT NAME : LALA RAMITHA NIM : 2012051036 TITLE : INFLUENCE OF MOTIVATION AND WORK ENVIRONMENT ON THE EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE OF GIANT EXPRESS CINERE MALL The purpose of this research was to determine how motivated employee of Giant Express Cinere Mall, to find out the work environment of Giant Express Cinere Mall, to know the employee performance of Giant Express Cinere Mall, and to determine the effect of motivation and work environment on employee performance of Giant Express Cinere Mall. This is associative research, using quantitative methods by literatures study, interview, observation, document, and questionnaire. Sample in this study were Giant Express Cinere Mall employee as much of 96 people. Data obtained from questionnaires analyzed using several stages of testing i.e. instruments data test, classic assumption test, regression, correlation and hypothesis test. Instrument data test using validity analysis techniques and data reliability. Classic assumption test using normality analytical techniques, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation. Linear regression test using simple linear regression analysis techniques and multiple linear regression. Correlation test using the multiple correlation analysis technique and hypothesis test using t test analysis techniques, f test and determination. The results showed strong enough correlation between motivation and work environment with employee performance indicated by r value 0,432 means 43,2%. The determination coefficient shows the effect of motivation and work environment on the employee performance is 0,187 means 18,7% the rest 81,3% influenced by other factors. Then, t test significance result between motivation and employee performance, value of tcalculate > ttable (2,256 > 1,985) then Ho is rejected and Ha accepted and t test between the working environment and employee performance, value tcalculate > ttable (3,114 > 1,985) then Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. f test significance result between motivation and work environment with employee performance, value of fcalculate > ftable (10,694 > 3,09) then Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. Multiple linear regression obtained equation Y = 20,665 + 0,221 X1 + 0,192 X2. Therefore, there is positive and significant effect between Motivation, Work Environment, and Employee Performance.
