Abstract

The aim of this study is to discuss the process of teaching speaking through mind mapping technique. Therefore, this study was conducted to implement Mind Mapping in speaking classroom of the tenth grade students at SMK Ruhul Bayan Cicayur.The study uses qualitative approach. The qualitative data were obtained by observing the teaching and learning process. The interviewand questionnaires were the methods to collect the data from the students.The materials were used in learning process were from the handout were prepared by the teacher. The classroom activities were in the form of individual presentation. From the result of the questionnaire, it can be affirmed that most students enjoy speaking through monologue using mind mapping because the teacher explained clearly and always giving opportunity to the students to express their ideas and opinions. It also can be seen from the English score test of the students. Most of them got good score. Based on the result, it can be concluded that implementation teaching speaking through monologue using mind mapping tecnique was truely successful.
